What to Expect in the Coming Year
January Market Overview
Looking ahead to 2024, there are several promising signs for the housing market. Home builders are increasing housing inventory, mortgage interest rates are decreasing, and demographics are shifting in favor of home buyers.
As the youngest baby boomer turns 60 this year, this generation, which represents the largest share of home buyers, may be searching for retirement properties. Last year, half of older boomers paid for their homes in cash and are less affected by mortgage interest rates. At the same time, millennials - the largest adult generation - are also entering the market, seeking their first property or a move-up family home.
With growing demand and improving market conditions, 2024 appears to be a positive year for the housing market. We remain optimistic and continue to sharpen our skills to help you navigate any challenge. January Home Maintenance Checklist
Replace your furnace air filter: Start the year off right and replace your furnace air filter for both cost savings and health benefits.
Put away holiday decorations: Store holiday decorations carefully, wrap delicate items in tissue and lights around cardboard. Give away unused ornaments and fix or discard broken ones.
Clean out the kitchen and pantry: Remove everything from the pantry, toss out stale and expired foods and wipe down the shelves before putting everything back. Clean out the fridge and freezer, and clear off countertops. Let the refreshed space motivate you to stick with your health resolutions for the new year.
