September Home Maintenance Checklist
Check Leaky Faucets: Before the temperatures start to dip, examine leaky faucets in the kitchen, bathrooms, and utility room locations.
Change Air Filters: This one should really be done every month, but especially important as seasonal allergens kick into high gear. Dirty air filters can lead to higher energy bills and irreparably damage your HVAC system.
Service Yard Equipment: Autumn—not spring—is actually the best time to show some love to your lawn equipment before you put it away for winter. By taking the time to properly winterize your equipment, you can avoid these issues and extend the lifespan of your machinery.
We want to hear from you!
Just as the seasons change, other parts of our lives go through a similar transformation. We’d love to hear from you and have put together a brief survey to gain insight for our plans for the upcoming year. We’d like to offer you a chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card as a token of our gratitude for completing our survey!
You’ll be entered in the drawing when you complete the survey by September 7th, and the winner will be announced on September 8th. Thank you again for your participation and best of luck in the drawing!
Kitchen Inspo
Is a kitchen renovation on the menu? If so, selecting surface materials should be at the top of your to-do list. The look and feel of countertops will help shape your experience in the kitchen—hopefully for the better. We’ve taken a look at the research and considerations for your next remodel.
The good news is: your options are plenty. Granite, quartz, quartzite, porcelain, soapstone, butcher-block, laminate, marble, and concrete can all be used to great effect depending on your needs and style. If you don’t mind regular maintenance and aren’t too rough on your countertops, you can get away with your favorite aesthetic.
Natural granite or engineered quartz are best for hard-wearing, low-maintenance surfaces
Stain-resistant quartz is made with ground stone and resin
Choose materials based on color, application, and finish
Neutral colors with minimal veining or patterns are classic
Bold styles can feature dramatic patterns and rich colors
Need a contractor? We work with phenomenal professionals and can recommend someone for you!
